Rosary Hike Program

The Rosary Hike Program is now in its' seventh year of meeting on a monthly basis.  Each month since October of 2007, Scouts have been taking a 3 mile hike originating from Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary church in Belmont, Michigan. During this hike, the Scouts lead the Rosary.

Information regarding the Rosary Hikes:

This program has deepened the faith of both youth and adults.  The scouts never complain about praying the Rosary but rather the 3 mile hike!  July has been the best attended Rosary Hike as we complete an 8 mile Rosary Bike Hike to nearby Rockford, Michigan which serves wonderful hotdogs and ice cream. The hikes are always scheduled on the first Sunday of the month after the 9:00 a.m. Mass, except when the Knights of Columbus Breakfasts are held. Hikes then begin between 10:30-11:00 a.m.

St. George Trek 2013

June 22, 2012

2013 Saint George Trek
Wednesday, July 10, 2013 to Thursday, July 25, 2013

General Information

The Saint George Trek is The National Catholic Committee on Scouting’s® high adventure Catholic leadership program for older Catholic Boy Scouts and Venture Crew members at Philmont Scout Ranch. The program brings Catholic high school youth from around the country together with selected priests, religious and seminarians for eleven days of backpacking in the context of a vocation retreat.

Dates and Itinerary

The 2013 Saint George Trek begins on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the participants meet, get to know one another, train, have fun and pray. Then it's off to Philmont Scout Ranch where they will hike the Sangre de Cristo Range of the Rocky Mountains. While hiking, they will experience a program that is designed to encourage the integration of morality, values, spirituality, faith, scripture and vocation in their lives as young Catholic Men and Women. Before returning home on Thursday, July 25, 2013, they will be asked to commit their own continued discernment as well as bringing their experiences home to their respective dioceses, so they can become effective peer leaders and role models for their fellow scouts.

January 30, 2013

7 to 9 p.m.

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Belmont, MI 49306

This workshop will provide an opportunity for its members to not only meet together as friends in the Catholic Church, but also further links the Catholic Church and the Scouting Movement from all over the world. From the Catholic faith point of view, it develops and enhances the spiritual dimension of Scouting in the World Scout Movement. The International Awareness Workshop also offers an excellent chance for participants to meet some or all of the requirements for earning the Religious Activity Award for the International Awareness in the Catholic Church for all ages of both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts programs.

Scouts and leaders will have the opportunity to meet priests, deacons, religious sisters and lay people who have been involved with Missionary work, Vocations, World Youth Day and International Scouting events.

More information about the Bishop Baraga Missionary Trail Award, Footsteps to American Saints Patch and Rosary Patch programs will also be available.

Patches, Pins and Medallions available for purchase at the workshop.
